True Black History Museum Exhibit

In partnership with the Howell Carnegie District Library, the LDC brings this curated collection of black history artifacts to the Cleary Commons at Cleary University. Visit this exhibit, FREE and open to the public, from 11am - 4pm. The Museum's staff members will be onsite to guide guests and answer questions.

ABOUT THE EXHIBIT:

The exhibit is entitled "A Tribute to the African-American Journey," it takes visitors on a journey through the African American experience. Artifacts in the collection range from the many great African civilizations, through the Slave Trade, Slavery, The Civil War, Reconstruction, Jim Crow, the Civil Rights / Black Power movement, through the modern day. The Collection celebrates and highlights the contributions of African Americans in the arts, sciences, sports, entertainment, education, and politics. The Museum was established to preserve the history of African Americans and educate others about the many significant contributions that African Americans have made to humanity.
