Community Focus
In the planning for almost a year, Livingston 2001 Diversity Council initiated a project that became the “Community Conversation About Diversity.” The “Conversation” took place under the auspices of the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the City of Howell and Livingston 2001. Sponsors included Citizens Insurance, TRW, St. Joseph Mercy, plus First Impression Printing, First National Bank, Livingston County Press & Argus and National City Bank. The professional facilitators were from the National Conference for Community and Justice. Dr. Kevin Greene and Dr. Shea Howell..

Three community sessions were held and in excess of 50 community leaders were involved. This initiative, still underway and described below, is designed to move the community forward in progressive ways and to repair its image to the outside world.
