Hosted by our friends at the Brighton First United Methodist Church, you are invited to a free film screening of the documentary by Our Daily Bread Ministries, Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom. A journey to Texas reveals the history & resilient hope of the Juneteenth holiday. A black man is troubled by the legacy of American slavery and the misuse of Christianity to justify it.

Each year, Juneteenth invites all Americans to reflect on the courageous stories of faith, hope, and strength from past generations. It also encourages us to celebrate the rescue and redemption God’s gift of freedom offers us all.

Light refreshments will be served. A guided conversation will follow the film screening (the documentary runs about one hour and 15 minutes).
