The Livingston Diversity Council and St. Joe’s Livingston hosted a virtual author reading and discussion in honor of Black History Month on February 15, 2022 via Zoom.

Latashia M Perry wrote Hair Like Mine, a story “following a little girl who doesn’t like that her naturally curly hair looks different from the other kids around her.  On her quest to find someone with hair like hers, she soon realizes we are all unique and special in our own way.”

Benjamin Losford and His Handy Dandy Clippers by Sean & Sonya Hollins is “an historical fiction book based on the true-life story of Benjamin Losford of Edmore, Michigan. Benjamin’s story inspires youth to find their gifts in life and use them to excel to places they could never have imagined.” Sean and Sonya Hollins used more than 30 years of experience in writing and graphic design to bring this story to life.”
