Community Event: Transgender Day of Remembrance

Join us for Queer Families of Livingston’s annual recognition of Transgender Day of Remembrance. The event is in its fourth year and will be held at the Oceola Community Center.

Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual observance (typically on November 20th) that honors the memory of transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming individuals who have lost their lives to anti-transgender violence and bigotry. It serves to raise awareness about the persistent violence, discrimination, and systemic harms faced by the trans community, highlighting the need for justice and inclusion.

What to expect:

5:30-6:15 - Doors will open and guests will be able to visit tables from community organizations and be able to view artwork for the silent auction.

6:15-7:15 - Various speakers will present information about trans rights, current legal battles, action you can take and personal stories and poems from local community members. We will end with the reading of a list of names provided by HRC of identified trans lives lost due to violence over the past 12 months.

If you win the silent art auction, we ask that you pay before leaving and take the art piece home with you. You will be able to pay by cash, check, Venmo or Paypal.
